Sugar Free Do's and Don'ts and More
In today's world, it seems that almost any topic is open for debate. While I was gathering facts for this article, I was quite surprised to find some of the issues I thought were settled are actually still being openly discussed.

If you base what you do on inaccurate information, you might be unpleasantly surprised by the consequences. Make sure you get the whole Sugar Free story from informed sources.

Perhaps your weakness is pistachio ice cream, brownies with nuts, or pancakes covered with syrup. Many of us crave sweets—sometimes throughout the day. Some of us may even be addicted to sugar. The problem is, large helpings of sugary foods can lead to substantial weight gain. But eating sugar-free does not necessarily guarantee weight loss.

A food may be sugar-free and still contain a great amount of calories and carbohydrates. You may be thinking that you can lose weight simply by using sugar substitutes. However, this is a naïve way of thinking, since some sugar substitutes increase your intake of both calories and carbs. For instance, the sugar substitute fructose adds calories and carbs to your daily diet. These types of sugar substitutes are often called sugar alcohols or polyols.

It should be stated that polyols can be highly beneficial. For instance, while they offer a sugary taste, they have fewer calories than sugar. They are particularly advantageous for people with diabetes and, unlike sugar, they do not cause tooth decay. You can find polyols in a number of baked goods and candies. Interestingly enough, they can even be found in mouthwashes.

Given the fact that polyols are low-cal, they can be helpful in a weight management program. Fortunately, there are a number of desserts that are both sugar-free and delicious. For instance, sugar-free lemon cheesecake is a healthy alternative to the typical high-calorie cheesecake. You can also make butterscotch and pumpkin pudding by using sugar-free butterscotch pudding mix.

A sugar-free version of Old-Fashioned Applesauce cake is made with reduced calorie margarine, Splenda, and unsweetened applesauce, while light chocolate peanut butter pie can be created with sugar-free chocolate pudding and fat-free whipped dessert topping. Meanwhile, sugar-free strawberry pie can be made with diet Sprite or 7-Up and sugar-free strawberry gelatin.

The American Diabetes Association heartily endorses sugar-free diets. The organization also recommends consuming at least five servings of fruits and vegetables each day; a half-dozen servings of breads and cereals; no more than three servings of low-fat milk or yogurt, lean meats; and a limited amount of sweets and desserts.

When you dine in restaurants, the Diabetes Association recommends that you save half your meal for the next day in order to avoid calorie overload. You might also consider sharing a meal or dessert with someone else. Also, you might want to substitute a salad for potatoes. In addition, you should ask that your dressing or sauce be served on the side in order to attempt to control portions.

It is interesting to note that a food can be labeled “no sugar added” and still contain sugar. The label refers to the fact that no table sugar is involved; however, the food could still have its share of natural sugars. As a result, no-sugar-added food could have as many calories as other types of food. In addition, the Diabetes Association cautions that eating protein alone will not enhance your muscles. Rather, you need exercise to strengthen your muscles.

While eating sugar-free food can be beneficial, the Diabetes Association offers other tips for attempting to lose weight and keep it off. In general, the guidelines call for reducing calories and fat, exercising each day, not skipping breakfast, and maintaining a food log which indicates everything you have consumed on a daily basis.
Lessening your dependence on sugar can be an important first step toward improving your diet. But, as we have seen, simply eating sugar-free will not guarantee that you will achieve the weight loss you’re looking for. Weight reduction takes a great deal of discipline and patience. You did not gain all of your extra weight in a single day, so you can’t expect to be rid of it instantaneously.

Before cutting out sugar entirely from your diet, it’s best to check with your doctor. He or she can also give you some effective weight management techniques. It’s always best to have a medical doctor overseeing your weight loss plan. That can help to ensure that you maintain good health during the weight reduction process. With dedication and hard work, you can achieve your weight loss goals. You yourself may be astounded at your progress, once you begin a sensible diet plan.

This article's coverage of the information is as complete as it can be today. But you should always leave open the possibility that future research could uncover new facts.

Priligy dapoxetine a Premature Ejaculation treatment pill overview
A new drug has been approved for the treatment of premature ejaculation in men. The content below throws more light on this drug which is popularly known as Priligy

Important information about Priligy and premature ejaculation

Priligy dapoxetine has been recently approved for the treatment of premature ejaculation in men. As a result, there is a huge demand for this drug among men who suffer from premature ejaculation. However, you shouldn’t buy Priligy before learning important information about this drug.

What is Priligy?

Priligy is an oral drug that is prescribed to men who suffer from premature or rapid ejaculation. It contains dapoxetine hydrochloride as the main ingredient, which belongs to a group of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRIs. Priligy helps to prolong the ejaculation process in men during sex.

What are strengths of Priligy?

Priligy is available in two dosage strengths – 30 mg and 60 mg. Out of these two dosages; you should take only the recommended one, as and when needed. Priligy isn’t for day to day use. You can take the recommended dose with a glass of water about 1-3 hours prior to sexual intercourse. You shouldn’t take more than one dose of Priligy in 24 hours.

Who should take Priligy?

Priligy can be prescribed to any man who falls in the age group 18-64 years, providing he suffers from genuine problem of premature ejaculation. It shouldn’t be taken by individuals who are below 18 years in age.

Who shouldn’t take Priligy?

  • Patients suffering from moderate to severe liver impairment or sever kidney failure shouldn’t take Priligy for treating premature ejaculation
  • Patients with heart problems shouldn’t take Priligy
  • The use of Priligy shouldn’t be combined with drugs such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors, thioridazine, antidepressant medicines, and herbal treatments
  • Priligy shouldn’t be combined with CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir, saquinavir, telithromycin, nefazadone, nelfinavir and atazanavir

Medical experts consider Priligy as safe and effective treatment for premature ejaculation however; it’s not completely free from undesirable side effects. Before taking it for treating your premature ejaculation problem, you should learn about its precautions.

About premature ejaculation or PE

Premature ejaculation is one of the most frustrating sexual problems in men. It affects an estimated 30-40% of men population. In the UK, 1 out of every 4 men suffers from premature ejaculation leading to increased frustration levels among them.

Premature ejaculation is also known as rapid ejaculation. It is defined as the inability of men to prolong their ejaculation process during sex thus decreasing the satisfaction levels for both the partners.

Primarily, the causes of premature ejaculation in men are considered to be psychological in nature however, it’s not limited to that only, as some physical conditions such as urinary tract infection or prostate problems can also give rise to these problems. Whatever be the cause of your rapid ejaculation, you can now treat it very effectively with the help of Priligy, provided it suits you.

To check your suitability for Priligy, you have to do a consultation with a medical doctor or your GP who conducts your thorough check up and then, if found suitable can prescribe you a valid prescription, which allows you to buy Priligy from any local licensed pharmacy. Another way to check your suitability for Priligy is through an online consultation from the website of any licensed online clinic. An online consultation can save your time, energy and money. However, it can’t replace face-to-face consultation with a doctor or your GP.

Fitness in Your Fabulous Forties
As we get older, we often pause to evaluate ourselves: Am I accomplishing all I want? Am I doing enough to help others? Am I flossing enough? Do I like my work? All sorts of questions pop into our minds. But, when you turn 40, 50, 60, and beyond the questions change. Why is my body making that noise? Am I eating right? What sorts of exercises do I need to stay fit?

We all ask these questions because we want to feel better and live healthier lives. However, as we age the exercises we did in our 20’s and 30’s are not as easy or as much fun anymore. It’s time to find new ways to make fitness work for us, not against us. We know regular exercise can and will keep us strong and vital. It is just a matter of finding activities that fit our needs.

Our Body is Changing. Our bodies change throughout our lives. We tend to notice these changes more as we age. “We see the results of physiological changes around 40 and after,” states Greg Payne, author, professor at San Jose State University’s Human Performance Department. Payne says, “Strength, cardiovascular capacity, metabolic rate, flexibility and reaction time decrease as we grow older.” Over 40, specialist believe our functional capacity of most organ systems start to decline at the rate of one percent a year (or 10 percent a decade) if left unchecked. Decrease in bone mass, which hastens osteoporosis (especially in women), and water loss are major changes that take place.

Optimistically, many of the symptoms of aging are really symptoms of lack of exercise. Studies show we can prevent as much as 50 percent of functional decline by participating in regular exercise. Decline is related directly to lifestyle choices rather than the biological process of aging.

Getting Motivated. Everyone has different motives for working out – from feeling and looking physically better to stress management and a need for physical fun and social activity. One major reason people choose to exercise is to improve appearance. However, the consultations, health histories and goals my over forty clients share with me indicate exercise becomes a health issue and stress-relief mechanism. Flexibility and strength become functional priorities in preserving their quality of life. Weight loss is important for appearance, as well as for health issues; e.g. high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, breathlessness and fatigue.

Exercise importance is pretty much a given, while adherence is the key. Having fun and working out with a friend or family member helps encourage regular activity.

Over Forty Exercise Programs. A balanced exercise program that includes cardiovascular exercise (preferably low impact), muscular strengthening, endurance training and flexibility exercise is important for clients over 40. Fitness level, not age, determines the design, content and approach of a program. It’s never too late to exercise and you are never too old to start. When considering the average inactive population, my philosophy is that something is better than nothing, and my goal is to encourage participation in any activity that will result with health benefits. Cholesterol and Lowering HDL
Good health has always been a subject of great concern for everyone. We always talk about exercise, living a healthy lifestyle and eating healthy. But it was not always like this.

Decades ago, the concept of health was quite different from how we perceive it right now. Yes, the value of exercise was still very much mentioned but the concept of “healthy eating” was vastly different. As late as the 1960s, the tenets that surround healthy eating was quite different from what it is now. Just look at the popular media in those days. The Brady matriarch Marcia Brady would constantly feed her family red meat, specifically beef, in her belief that meat ensures that her kids need red meat to grow up healthy.

Fast forward to the present and the what used to be the bible truth before is now considered as one of the worst health mistakes one can take. We now know that red meat is not really a healthy option because of the large amount of fat that it contains. The same with a lot of processed foods. We are now more conscious about the stuff that we consume and let into our system.

An integral part of this new health consciousness is the increased awareness about cholesterol. With advances in nutrition research and medicine over the last few decades, cholesterol has been identified as the culprit in a number of diseases – most notably cardiovascular disease. This non-soluble waxy substance is a vital part for the maintenance of one’s health. It is used by the body to make hormones, cell walls and nerve sheaths. But even though cholesterol plays an important role in the body too much of one type of cholesterol can actually be bad for the health.

People might wonder why there is a reference to types of cholesterol. To better understand this, it would be good to know how cholesterol works in the body. The liver produces while your diet provides cholesterol. This is then transported by the LDL or bad cholesterol though the whole body as a way of maintaining vital body functions. The HDL, the good cholesterol, then brings back the cholesterol to the liver so that it can be recycled. This is done so that cholesterol does not build up too much in the blood stream. Health problem crop up when there is too much LDL and not enough HDL to carry the cholesterol back to the liver. This imbalance increases the cholesterol in the body, which can lead to heart disease.

From the way body works and handles cholesterol, we know that there are two different types of cholesterol in the body, the bad cholesterol (LDL) and good cholesterol (HDL). It does not take much thinking to realize that what nutritionists and physicians want us to do is to lower bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol.

How exactly do you do that?

Fortunately, because of developments in nutrition and medical research there are ways of increasing the good cholesterol in your body. With proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle you can exactly do that and be on the road to good health and low cholesterol. For more details, please visit http://www.goHDL.com

Lemons for Asthma Attacks and Other Illnesses
Lemons, they are one of the best fruits to use if you are sick or have asthma. Learn why and how you need to use them if you have asthma

Most people shy away from lemons because they are sour. Or, they make lemon juice and then kill their beneficial effects by adding sugar. Well, here is what your are missing if you don't drink fresh natural lemon aid every morning.

For asthma, lemon juice is great because it,

It is antiseptic - kills germs that hide in your mucus
It destroys bad bacteria that lives in your mouth, stomach, and intestines
It helps to dissolve mucus so when you have a cold or cough you recover quicker. The combination of 8 oz of water and lemon greatly cuts into your thick mucus that builds up in your bronchial tubes.
Helps to cleanse your blood and clean blood makes your lung tisse healthier

Lemons are high in vitamin C and potassium. They also contain plenty of fiber and phytochemcials, which contain antioxidants many of which have not been studied.

Use only lemons that are yellow and don't have any signs of green. You can store lemons in a plastic bag in the refrigerator and they will last for up to 5-6 days. To use these lemons bring them out and let them come to room temperature.

If you have a lot of lemons, you can squeeze the juice and freeze them in ice trays for later use.

If you have acid reflux or ulcers use lemons with caution and use your common sense to decide how much juice to drink. With acid reflux or ulcers use DGL or Mastic gum to clear the H..pyloric bacteria.

Lemons also tend to thin the blood so if you are on drugs that thin the blood, avoid using a lot of lemon juice.

When you have asthma, you can use 3-4 lemons daily. You can use up to ten lemons per day without much problem when you are trying to resolve a health issue. What you can do for asthma is make a thermos drink where you squeeze 4-5 lemons into 32 oz or less of distilled water and drink this juice all day long. Just remember to rinse out your mouth with fresh water after you drink the lemon juice.

How to Fight the Effects of Aging
Like any battle, the fight against aging is best fought on several fronts
simultaneously.

Get Up and Get Moving
Exercise is they key to a healthy life if you're eight or 80. A brisk 30 minute
walk every day can do wonders. Take friends along or get a dog for company.

It helps with motivation too. Even those unable to walk can still get some
exercise while stationary through repetitive movement exercises. It's important to do what you can.

Eat Smart
The right kind of foods in the right quantities can do wonders to stave off the
aging process. Plenty of fruits and vegetables, particularly the most colorful ones, which tend to be rich in nutrients, are important. So is keeping your total fat intake down, saturated fats in particular. Read food labels and substitute saturated fat in the diet for complex carbohydrates like starch and fiber.

Busy Body, Busy Mind
Exercise keeps the body working, but a flexible mind is just as important. The
more occupied the mind stays, the more its cells are stretched, the better shape it stays in. Start tackling the daily crossword and read the rest of the newspaper while you're at it. Take up a hobby, keep busy and give yourself things to look forward to.

Products
It never hurts to have a little help and there are a wide variety of anti-aging
products on the market to help beat the aging process. Aging most obviously
manifests itself in outward appearance and there's no shortage of products that tackle that problem. Anti-wrinkle creams that hydrate and tighten skin can take years off a face and are a more cost effective and safer alternative to expensive plastic surgery procedures or injections of substances like Botox.

As well as creams and lotions, there are numerous hormone supplements and pharmaceuticals available that make varying claims of slowing or even reversing the aging process. The production of the hormone Dehydroepiandrosterone, or DHEA for short, decline sharply in the elderly and has been popular in the marketplace for almost 10 years thanks to its reported life-extending qualities.

Other natural supplements that have been lauded include fish oil, which helps combat heart disease, and green tea, which is said to inhibit the growth of undesirable cells in the body.

Laugh Loud, Live Long
It's the best medicine, it keeps you young, it's birthed a thousand clichés, but there's no getting a round it - laughter feels good and that can't be bad. Rent a comedy, read a book of humorous fiction, share some jokes, get together with friends and reminisce about the good old days. Whatever gets you laughing keeps you young at heart, which is a good thing physically and
emotionally. Smiling makes you look younger, too.

The Fluke Biomedical Index 2 Optical Simulator
What does a retailer of Finger Pulse Oximeters have to do with Fluke Biomedical? What does an Optical Simulator do? In this article, we will go behind the scenes with ClinicalGuard.com's Quality Assurance team and see how they help make sure that you, the customer get the highest quality products.

One of the most frustrating things that could happen to any customer who makes a purchase online is getting something that's dead on arrival. To go through the ordeal of calling having to wait after sending a product back for exchange can dampen anyone's mood. To minimize the chance of this happening to our customers, all our products are triple-tested. Each and every one of the products that we sell are tested three times before going out to our customers: the first time occurs when it leaves the factory, the second time when it arrives at our warehouse, and the third time when it gets shipped.

Why do we test our products so many times? To ensure that our customers receive a product in perfect working condition. The first test makes sure that there were no manufacturing defects. The second test ensures that no items were damaged while in shipping. The third test is our most elaborate test.

For the third test for Oximeter products, we use our Index 2 SpO2 Analyzer. The Index 2 SpO2 Analyzer is a Pulse Oximeter tester. The device allows simulating a human finger with varying levels of blood oxygen saturation, arterial bloodflow, and pulse rates. Advanced functionality such as tap/shiver motion simulation helps us explore the impact that body motion has on the reading. As quoted from the manufacturer's website...

"The Index-2 is the industry standard SpO2 analyzer and is used by major manufacturers such as Nellcor, Masimo, Philips Medical Systems, Datex-Ohmeda, Criticare and other industry leaders. The Index-2 implements several patent-protected techniques for optical simulation and motion, including sixteen (16) motion pre-sets co-developed with both Masimo and Nellcor. Index-2 was the first SpO2 simulator to support Masimo technology and still is the only simulator on the market that combines both optical and electrical simulation with dynamic SpO2 sensor and probe testing in one portable test instrument."

What does this mean for you, the customer? Not only does every oximeter we sell get tested for functionality, but also for accuracy and precision. This helps take the guesswork out of our quality assurance process, and further eliminate the possibility of product defects. By comparing the readings from each oximeter on the industry-leading analysis tool, we make sure that each and every pulse oximeter we sell is a product with quality we can stand behind

Breaking Into a Vegetable Juicing Diet

So you have your new juicer and are ready to make all the vegetable juicing recipes you can. Before you buy lots of different vegetables to juice, you need to know some basics that will help you break into a vegetable juicing diet.

You must integrate vegetable juice into your diet with baby steps. Juicing allows you to absorb more nutrients because the vegetable juice is already removed for the pulp for your intestines to take them in. However, not all vegetable juice can be digested that easily, especially the green leafy vegetable juice that is very rich. It is better to use vegetables that are easy to consume first, such as celery, zucchini, beets, carrots, and cucumbers.

Use recipes that are based on a combination of these. After a while, when there are no issues with digestion, slowly add in some dark greens like broccoli, lettuce and spinach. Eventually, you should have no problems with almost all vegetables.

It is not a good idea stick with the same few vegetable juicing recipes that you enjoy. Try out juicing recipes that include vegetables you may not like. Reduce the amount it calls for if you need to and use other fruits and vegetables you like to mask the taste. That way, you won't get too used to a narrow diet. Your body may have a difficult time adjusting to changes in your eating habits otherwise. You also insure that you are getting a many vitamins and minerals. I would suggest using your favorite juicing recipes every 3 days or so, and the other days to try new things.

Many people don't like to deal with the taste of vegetable juice because it is may be too rich in nutrients and too bitter. If it is bitter, then sweeten it a little! Add some carrots and beets. Alternatively, you can use apples, grapes and other fruits to give it an enjoyable taste. If it's too dense, dilute it with water.

Fish Oil benefits for Women
As any woman will testify, it's not easy being a woman; they are perhaps a mother or a grandmother, a career girl, or a soccer mom, and they are still not regarded as an equal among men. Possibly because they have more emotional strength and endurance, and smell much sweeter too, but what do I know. Anyway, despite the differences they may have compared to men, they still suffer from similar health problems, such as heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, depression, and cancer. How these health problems are handled is up to the patient.

One way to handle them, is to wait until you begin to suffer from anyone of the above conditions, or indeed another condition, and then seek medical treatment. Quite possibly something a man might opt to do, but perhaps not a choice a women would make if they had hindsight on their side.

And because you are reading this article, hindsight happens to be on your side. You could indeed opt for something that could provide protection from the above mentioned medical conditions, before they make their initial appearance. And, as you have probably guessed, taking fish oil happens to be a choice you could make. Specific health benefits of fish oil for women include reduced PMS and menopause symptoms and reduced risk of breast cancer. Something all women, I'm sure would appreciate, perhaps other halves might join them in that appreciation too!

Every single 'leading' cause of death for a woman has two things in common. These are of course that they're degenerative and preventable. Ranking, I feel, is immaterial, as I don't believe that winning the competition for most degenerative disease isn't exactly something to be proud of. There is however something you can do to remedy these preventable diseases, and that is get more omega 3 fatty acids into your diet.

Research continually affirms the power of these tiny, natural nutrients. It confirms, that if you increase your omega 3 intake, you can help to prevent heart disease, cancer, depression, diabetes, memory loss, Alzheimer's, PMS, dry skin, and much more.

So, with all these benefits of fish oil for women, would you really decide not to take them for your health?

Placenta Stem Cells Successfully Treats Parkinson's Disease

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a chronic neurological disorder that produces symptoms such as confusion, decreased dexterity, insomnia, lack of motor coordination, memory loss, shaking, stiff muscles, and tremors. Stem cells are an undifferentiated group of cells, which, depending on their surrounding conditions, are capable of developing into other types of cells such as liver cells, kidney cells, brain cells, or any of the other 260 different types of cells that make up the human body.

When Dr. Mehmet Oz appeared on Oprah Winfrey's show in March 2009, he showed a section of the human brain where lines are not present in a person who has Parkinson's disease. He believes that stem cells could be placed in that area to regenerate the damaged brain. He predicted that the use of stem cells to treat Parkinson's disease would begin in about eight years. What he obviously does not realize is that a clinic in Mexico has been using placental stem cells derived from placenta (afterbirth) to successfully treat Parkinson's for 18 years! That's about how long actor Michael J. Fox (known in the early '80s as Alex P. Keaton on the hit show Family Ties) has been living with the illness.

Since Mr. Fox is an advocate for stem cell treatment, it surprises me that he hasn't taken advantage of treatments offered in other countries. Maybe he doesn't know the treatment is available. But it is, and ISCI founder Rita Alexander is a first-hand witness of the results seen in patients who have been treated for cancer, cerebral palsy, dermatomyositis, diabetes, hepatitis C, HIV, immune deficiency, kidney disorders, multiple sclerosis, migraines, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson's, retinitis pigmentosa, rheumatoid arthritis, spina bifida, and stroke. Rita has personally received several treatments to relieve the debilitating effect of rheumatoid arthritis.

James Devlin is a resident of Hawaii, but his paradise became a nightmare 15 years ago when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Unwilling to accept the reality of continual mental and physical decline, he sought answers around the world to stop the disease from taking over his brain and his life. His symptoms were the standard Parkinson's package including stiff muscles, decreased dexterity and coordination, insomnia, memory loss, confusion, and tremors in his arms which made it difficult for him to feed himself. Normal daily activities such as dressing, eating, and writing became increasingly challenging. James was prescribed a long list of medications to manage the increasing number of symptoms. Two and a half years ago, he found the road to recovery from PD at the International Stem Cell Institute (ISCI).

When Rita first met Mr. Devlin, he was very stiff and rigid, battling constant tremors as he made his way through the airport. When he returned to the clinic six months after his first placental stem cell treatment, his body was relaxed, he walked with ease, the excessive tremors were gone, and a big smile replaced the vacant facial expression he had just a few months before. After several additional stem cell treatments, James Devlin has been able to eliminate all Parkinson's medication and spends his days surfing in paradise. At 67 years old, he enjoys a 75 percent recovery.

Unfortunately, not everyone is physically and financially able to travel to Mexico. That is why Rita Alexander started ISCI in April 2008. She wishes many more people who are suffering with Parkinson's disease knew there were stem cell treatments that could change the course of their lives. ISCI assists with patient education, pre- and post-treatment support, travel logistics, and financial matters regarding treatment. Her goal is to help people access treatment that is already available and to bring the treatment to the U.S.

For more information about ISCI or to arrange a consultation or schedule an appointment, please visit http://www.iStemCelli.com or contactRita Alexander, Executive Director at International Stem Cell Institute, at 800-609-7795.
