New Life Today

Are you sick of the same old routine? Life is dull and meaningless with no end to the misery insight. You want change but change seems impossible. You mind is stuck, your emotions locked and physical aliments haunt your days. What is the cause of all this misery? Yes, it could be physical and if you are severely depressed or have, physiological symptoms you need to get off your butt and see a doctor, at least rule out some sort of medical problem.

Once the medical variable is out of the way the work begins. Every medication for depression recommends therapy and in most cases, cognitive therapy comes highly recommended. Cognitive therapy is thought therapy, simple stated. The concept of cognitive therapy, again simply stated, first one thinks a thought and then feels and then behaves has been proven repeatedly in clinical studies.

Katherine Mansfield was correct in her statement, "could we change our attitude, we should not only see life differently, but life itself would come to be different". Attitude is everything. One of the first things I learned as young athlete involved attitude and winning. If you go into a game believing you will lose, you will certainly lose. However, if you believe with all your heart, and practice with the belief you will win, you will probably win.

Life is no different from a sport or a game. In order to experience new life you must first change your attitude. Stop looking at life through dim, dark, negative glasses. Open your eyes and see the beauty of life. Tell your self the truth about each situation you find your self involved. Identify the thoughts, which are negative and replace them with positive, faith-filled thoughts. An old proverb from the bible states, "As a man thinks so is he." In other words, a man thinks then acts out his thoughts. If you believe life is bad then life will indeed be bad.

A new life is yours if you are willing to do the work. In addition to thinking, positive thoughts try positive faith. God wants to help. God cares about you. God, through Jesus, the truth, will guide you along the way to a new life. Do not rule out the faith factor in cognitive therapy. Faith and works go hand in hand. When faith is active, it produces change.

Let's get real, does all this work. Yes, it works or I would not be writing this article. My own life is testimony to the fact faith works and so does positive thinking. You can find a new life if deep inside your innermost being are ready for change.

What's Your Waist Size?

The body mass index does not take into account how the body fat is distributed. The body mass index cannot tell the difference between fat mass and muscle mass. The waist circumference tells you about your body fat and it is a better guide to let you know if you are at risk of developing certain health conditions. These health conditions include diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke and certain cancers: breast, colon, bowel, pancreas, esophagus, kidney and cancer of the womb.

The waist circumference in simple terms means a measurement around the waist. People who carry excess body fat around their middle (abdomen) are more likely to suffer from certain health conditions. This is known as an apple shape. When you carry a lot of weight around your hips, it is known as a pear shape. A person who carries more excess weight around the middle is at a greater risk than a person carrying excess weight around the hips and thighs. According to experts, a person who has got excess body fat is more likely to have excess inner fat around the organs putting them at risk of developing heart disease and also type 2 diabetes. Studies done reported that for every 1cm increase in waist circumference, there is a risk of heart disease.

The waist circumference guide for women at increased risk is >80 cm and for men >94 cm. Those at considerably increased risk have a waist circumference of >88cm for women, and >102cm for men (This is above 90cm for Asian men and above 94 cm for white and black men).

How to assess your body fat

Body fat can be assessed by either measuring the waist to hip ratio or the waist circumference. But the waist to hip ratio is enough to tell you if whether you are at risk. The waist circumference is preferred over the waist to hip ratio as it gives you a measure of how fat you are in you are in the middle as well as letting you know whether you are at risk of developing heart disease.

How to measure Your Waist Size

• Find a tape measure of good length
• Place around your waist, around your narrowest part between the bottom part of your ribs and the top part hip bone
• Make sure the tape is not slanted or twisted or is not pressed tightly to the skin
• Check what your waist measurement is see whether it Puts you at risk of developing any health condition

The Snoring Headset

I want to take the time to talk to you about the snoring headset. There is a large population of people that suffer from this problem. The reason that virtually no one tries to fix this problem is that they're really not the victims of it. If you think about it, it's the people around you that are the victims. There Are Many Joint Pain Causes, From Minor to Serious

There are literally hundreds of joint pain causes. The most obvious and common cause of joint pain is injury. Some pain in joints can be a temporary situation caused by a recent injury, or it may be an ongoing pain caused by overuse, age related conditions, and more.

Many people who suffer with chronic joint pains find themselves debilitated. It is not uncommon for people with ongoing joint issues to me very large changes in the way they live. Many of these individuals are left unable to enjoy many everyday activities.

Arthritis is one of the most common joint pain causes. This very often will be accompanied by swelling and redness. Some severe cases of arthritis will lead to deformity of the affected joints. Although arthritis is associated with aging, it is possible for a person of any age to be affected by it.

This condition is associated with poor eating habits, and is one of the largest joint pain causes. It is generally the result of eating too many rich foods. Adding vegetables to your diet as a main ingredient will help to improve this condition.

Joint pains is one of the many symptoms of fibromyalgia, lupus, and many other serious conditions. Any pain in your joints should always be discussed with your physician.

It is always important to discuss any joint pain with your doctor. This will allow him or her the opportunity to find the joint pain causes.
